The NLCRPD partnered with various Lancaster County agencies to investigate a series of thefts that initially occurred between November 27 and 28, 2021. Two adult males, believed to be involved with an organized group, targeted numerous Giant stores in Lancaster County beginning in Elizabethtown and ending in the Strasburg area. The men, along with an unidentified female, are suspected to have committed similar thefts throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The men are suspected in the theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of cold and flu medication.
On December 16, 2021, the NLCRPD, as part of a joint investigation with other law enforcement agencies including the Elizabethtown PD, Mount Joy Borough PD, West Hempfield PD, and Manheim Township PD, identified the two men as DERRICK A. BLEACH and LEGIOUS R. MINDER of Allentown, Pennsylvania. Charges of Felony Retail Theft and felony Conspiracy to Commit Retail Theft have been filed. Criminal warrants for the arrest of both men have been issued.
On Saturday, 11/27/21 at approximately 2149 hrs., suspects DERRICK ANTHONY BLEACH and LEGIOUS R. MINDER, entered Giant Food Stores, located at 1008 Lititz Pike, Lititz Pa in Warwick Township. Both males arrived together in a dark colored sedan. BLEACH and MINDER proceeded to the medication aisle of Giant. The two men proceeded to remove a large gift bag that was concealed in the back of BLEACH’s jacket. BLEACH can then be seen on surveillance footage selecting various containers and boxes of medication. BLEACH is observed sliding the medication on the floor over to MINDER who proceeds to place the medication in the gift bag. At various times both BLEACH and MINDER can be seen crouching and hiding while continuing to select and bag additional medication.
BLEACH can be seen asking an employee for assistance, thus distracting the employee, enabling MINDER to flee the store with the stolen medication. MINDER and BLEACH are seen leaving the parking lot together in the dark colored sedan. The total retail value of stolen medication was estimated at $2500.00. MINDER and BLEACH repeated their tactics at various locations across Lancaster County. Both men are currently wanted and at large.
