On 12/30/22 at 2237 hours a NLCRPD patrol officer was conducting a premise check at the location of 1010 Sharp Ave, Turkey Hill. The NLCRPD patrol had knowledge from previous incidents, that a male individual identified as Joshua Fischer, age 43, residing at nearby address on the 100 block of Gentleness Drive, Ephrata had an active NCIC warrant for simple assault through the Lancaster County Sheriff's Department. At approximately 2238 hours, the patrol observed a white female and a white male exit the store moving towards a car parked on the lot. As Fischer walked to the passenger side of the vehicle, he looked over at the NLCRPD marked patrol vehicle. The patrol officer observed Fischer pull his hooded sweatshirt up to cover his face as if he was attempting to hide his identity. Fischer quickly opened the front passenger door and then began to run towards West Main Street. The NLCRPD patrol officer gave chase on foot and apprehended the fleeing offender by a body tackle in the parking lot of a nearby church. Fischer was placed into handcuffs. Fischer was transported to NLCRPD Headquarters for processing. Upon arrival at station, Fischer appeared to be limping on his left leg and complained of pain. After processing Fischer, custody was transferred to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Department. NLCRPD has charges pending against Fischer for flight to avoid apprehension and evading arrest on foot, misdemeanor offenses.
