NLCRPD was requested to contact various reporting parties in regard to a scam utilizing the false representations of association with the PP&L utility company as a means to facilitate the fraud. Reporting parties received a phone call from an unknown individual claiming to be from PPL stating that they would shut the electric off to the house if they did not pay a suggested fee. The reporting parties then contacted PPL and spoke with a legitimate company representative who explained this was a phone scam. Parties advised they did not give any information to this fake PPL number and had no monetary loss.
