NLCRPD investigated a two-vehicle accident that occurred in the 200 Block of White Oak Road near the Manheim Central Middle School. Officers found that Tanna E. BARR of Manheim was operating a 2015 Chevy Cruise sedan and had just dropped off one of here three children at school. When leaving the school BARR drove her vehicle out of the traffic lane, struck two light posts, then entered the oncoming lane of White Oak Road striking a second vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Ultima driven by Eileen Reimel of Lancaster.
EMS was called to the scene. All occupants involved in the crash refused / did not require immediate emergency treatment.
BARR was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance and incapable of safe driving at the time of the incident however refused to submit to a Police request for chemical testing. BARR was later released to a family member.
Charges to be filed against BARR include DUI, Reckless Endangerment, and various summary related driving offenses.
