The NLCRPD completed the reporting of a disturbance call event. NLCRPD was dispatched by LCWC to 600 N Oak St at the Turkey Hill for what was originally reported as a weapons/disturbance call.
Upon arrival for the weapons/disturbance call NLCRPD patrols met with a subject who was standing outside of Turkey Hill. This individual said that he had gone into Turkey Hill to get some items and was told that he had to wear a mask if he wanted to be in the store. The individual said that he could not wear a mask because he was armed and lifted his shirt to show that he was armed. The individual explained that when he had received his conceal carry permit in June he was told by the Lancaster County Sheriff's office that if he was armed he could not be in a store with a mask on. It was explained that if the store required to him to wear a mask then they can also refuse him service if he does not wear one.The individual understood and said that he just did not want to get into trouble and lose his conceal carry permit by violating what the Sheriff's office said.
NLCRPD interviewed the reporting party the stories matched up and it was found to be a misunderstanding between the two parties. After getting their information the scene was cleared. At no time did the individual pull his firearm out of its holster, brandish or threaten any employees or customers with the firearm.
