On May 7th, 2026, at approximately 5:54pm , NLCRPD patrol officers were dispatched to a pedestrian struck collision at the intersection of Rothsville Road of Shirley Lane, Warwick Township.

NLCRPD officers arrived on scene and located the involved electric bicyclist and motor vehicle. Rothsville Fire Department and Rothsville EMS responded and assisted with the incident.

Unit 1 was an electric bicycle operated by a 61-year-old male from Lititz. He was seriously injured in the collision and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Unit 2 was a Hyundai Elantra operated by an 83-year-old female from Lancaster. She was not injured in the collision.

Preliminary findings indicate that Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on the Warwick to Ephrata Rail Trail and attempting to cross Rothsville Road. Unit 1 began crossing the roadway and was struck by Unit 2, which was traveling northbound on Rothsville Road.

Collision is under further investigation. NLCRPD was assisted by the Lancaster County Northwest Crash Team.
