On October 2, 2015 at 11:54 p.m., Ephrata Police responded to the 100 block of Church Ave., Ephrata Borough, for a stabbing.  A physical altercation occurred in the backyard of a residence between two men both of whom believed that the other was interfering with their relationship with a female. 

The stabbing victim was stabbed in the chest with a steak knife.  The victim was treated at Lancaster General Hospital and released the same day.

Ephrata Police charged Gavin Duane Rea, 23, of Ephrata with Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault.  Ceasar Sanchez, 27, of Lancaster was charged with Simple Assault, Defiant Trespass and Harassment.
