Ephrata Police investigated an accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of PA Rt. 272 and S. Poplar St Adamstown Borough Saturday 1-4-20 at approximately 5:45 pm.
Ephrata Police determined a north bound white van driven by Amos Bongorlie M/22 of Philadelphia stopped to turn left onto S. Poplar St when it collided with a south bound white sedan driven by Ronald Stover M/61 of Denver, PA. Apparently Bongorlie failed to yield to Stover's south bound vehicle prior to making his left turn across the intersection. A third vehicle stopped on S. Poplar St at the intersection driven by Joseph Kowalski M/45 of Reinholds, PA sustained front end damage when it was struck by Stover's vehicle. Stover as a result of the collision was pushed into the front of Kowalski's vehicle. Stover and Bongorlie's vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Bongorlie sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment. Bongorlie will be sent a traffic citation for failure to yield before turning left.
PA 272 was reduced to one lane while the scene was cleared of the crash debris. Ephrata Police were assisted on scene by Adamstown Fire Company and Fire Police.
