Ephrata Police were called to the intersection of East Main St (US 322) and Washington Ave., Ephrata Borough around 4pm 7-1-22 for an accident involving a bicyclist and vehicle. 

Investigation determined a 20yr old Ephrata resident was riding his bicycle west on the sidewalk in downtown Ephrata and struck the side of a vehicle driven by a 22yrs old Lancaster man who was turning from Main St onto Washington Ave.   Witness reports indicated motorist was slowly turning onto Washington Ave when the cyclist who was riding at a high rate of speed down the sidewalk failed to slow or stop prior to entering the intersection.   The cyclist was taken to Penn Medicine-Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
