On 6/13/2021 at 6:58 a.m. Columbia Borough Police Officers were dispatched to an attempted suicide on the first block of South Sixth St. in Columbia.

Arriving Officers discovered that a male in his 70s from Lancaster, PA was injured from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Immediate medical attention was provided and the male was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Columbia Borough Officers were assisted by Officers from West Hempfield Police Department.

There is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident.
