Yes, there is a black bear roaming the New Britain Township area. NBTPD has received several calls concerning the bear. Most of the black bears seen in our area have wandered down the Delaware River looking for food after coming out of hibernation. If you see the bear, keep your distance. Residents are reminded about leaving pet food outdoors and leaving their trash unsecured - bears love a good trash can smorgasbord when they're hungry!

The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been made aware of the bear in our area and is working to track the bear and help relocate it.
