Detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office are investigating a telephone scam that involves a caller purporting to be from the county’s Clerk of Courts office inquiring about personal finances.
On the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 2, a Bucks County resident received a call she described as an automated “robocall” where she was asked questions about getting out of debt and her ability to pay her monthly bills. The resident said her phone showed the number coming from the Bucks County Clerk of Courts. That county office does not perform those types of transactions.
The resident hung up the phone and did not give any personal information.
Anyone who has received a similar call should contact Bucks County Detectives at 215-348-6354.
Residents are reminded not to release any personal information to unsolicited calls such as these.
