The National Weather Service is forecasting that a major storm will be affecting the region with heavy rain and strong winds Thursday night (12/22/22) into Friday (12/23/22), with colder artic air entering the region Friday evening with potential of a flash freeze.
The Town of Saugerties and Village of Saugerties Emergency Services, and DPWs, are preparing to meet any demands of this potential storm.
In the event flooding and or power outages, the Frank Greco Senior Center on Market Street will open as a temporary Dormitory/Warming Center. The main Lobby at Police Headquarters has been open several weeks now for use by anyone in need of warming or overnight respite.
Everyone should be preparing now in the event this storm causes power outages and road closures. Flooding in the lower lying areas of the Town and Village have greater potential of occurring on Friday 12/23/22.
