On August 22, 2026, at approximately 8:45pm, Craig Police Department Patrol Officers responded to an address near the intersection of E 6th St and Washington St in Craig to contact a male party wanted on an original felony, domestic violence warrant. The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred on August 20, 2026, in Craig.

Upon arrival, officers made visual contact with the suspect, Antonio Archuleta, through a window, but he refused to exit the residence despite commands to do so. Officers confirmed Archuleta was alone inside the residence, where firearms were located. A perimeter was set up, and numerous announcements were made over a PA advising Archuleta that he was under arrest, but he refused to exit.

The NWCO SWAT team, a regional SWAT team comprised of officers and deputies from the Craig PD, Moffat County SO, Routt County SO, Steamboat Springs PD, and Hayden PD, was activated and arrived on scene. Negotiators texted with Archuleta, and two NFDD's (flashbangs) were deployed outside the residence in an attempt to gain compliance. After approximately 3 hours, Archuleta surrendered and exited the residence at roughly 00:38am.

Archuleta was taken into custody without incident, and neither he nor any officers were injured. He is currently being held at the Moffat County Jail on a $30,000 bond, facing charges including:

• 18-3-203 2nd Degree Assault- Strangulation
• 18-3-204 3rd Degree Assault
• 18-6-800.3 Domestic Violence
• 18-9-119 Failure to Leave Premises
• 18-6-803.5 Violation of a Protection Order x2
