In recent months, officer(s) with the Craig Police Department have been dealing with countless fictitious Colorado Temporary vehicle license plates. These plates are being purchased from individuals via on-line means and are offered via numerous websites.
As a reminder, applying one of these plates to any vehicle is a Class 2 Traffic Misdemeanor and a conviction may result in a fine of $150.00 to $300.00 plus court cost and surcharges and a possible jail sentence of 10 to 90 days. (C.R.S. § 42-4-1701)
The only place one should purchase a tag is the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle.
