The following statement has been issued by the 14th Judicial District Attorney's Office:
"In late May 2026, Herrera pled guilty to possessing with intent to distribute almost 70 grams of methamphetamine, in case 25CR84. At the sentencing hearing on Monday, 14th Judicial District Chief Judge Brittany Schneider handed down the prison term after hearing argument from Assistant District Attorney Joseph Bucci and Herrera’s defense attorney.
After the sentencing hearing, ADA Bucci stated, “Judge Schneider’s sentence sends a strong message to Mr. Herrera and others, that if you deal in poison in our community, you will be accountable and will face significant consequences with the criminal justice system.”
The investigation was led by Officer Bryan Gonzales of the Craig Police Department and the All Crimes Enforcement Team (ACET) and the prosecution of the case was handled by Assistant District Attorney Joseph Bucci.
