On December 16, 2022, at approximately 10:07am, Officer(s) with the Craig Police Department were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel located at 200 South Highway 13. The call was in reference to employees of the motel finding "a bunch of fentanyl" in a room. On arrival officer(s) met with the employee who took them to a room. Once officer(s) were let in the room by employees, they observed the mattress to the bed was propped up against the wall. On the box springs, officer(s) saw a small baggie with approximately 8 small blue pills, a lighter, and a black glove. As officer(s) were collecting the items, inside the glove were two sealed baggies with an unknown number of the same blue pills and a third small baggie which was opened, and several loose blue pills.
Due to the number of blue pills (approximately 250), which are suspected Fentanyl, Officer(s) contacted agents with the A.C.E.T. team. Officer(s) also collected a printer, a pillow, a duffel bag, two backpacks, and a camera style bag. Officer(s) knew the name of the rooms occupant, as he had been arrested the prior night for active warrants.
On arrival at the Public Safety Center, A.C.E.T. Agent(s) had obtained a search warrant for the bags and items taken. Inside the bags, Agent(s) located 46.92 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
The incident is currently still under investigation.
