09/04/2026 at 11:30 pm: Hwy 40 is back open. 

At 9:18 pm, Craig Police Officers were dispatched to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash in the area of Victory Way and Woodbury Dr. Preliminary information indicates that 2 separate vehicles struck an adult male who was crossing Victory Way. The adult male was pronounced deceased on the scene. Colorado State Patrol is assisting with the investigation, and more details will be released as they become available.    

No identifying information will be released until the Moffat County Coroner notifies next of kin and releases the decedent's name.
