On September 27, 2025, at 7:11 p.m., an officer while on patrol, observed a silver BMW sedan with no registration plate. Prior to activating emergency lights, the driver of the BMW while stopped in the middle of the road, got out of the vehicle and was looking under the vehicle. The driver then approached the police vehicle and related that the vehicle smelled weird. The driver was asked to return to his vehicle. Which he did and then got out of it again. With the vehicle having dark tinted windows, the officer asked if anyone else was in the vehicle. The driver related no. The driver was observed acting erratic and sweating profusely. He related that he bought the car earlier in the day at Ray Price and that they told him it was ok to drive without a registration for the time being. He then changed the story to having bought the vehicle 2 days prior and he wanted to call a tow truck because the vehicle was messed up. He related that he did not have a driver's license and provided the name Anthony Nash, with a date of birth of 2/20/1998. While attempting to check the tint on the windows of the vehicle, he locked the door. A tow truck was contacted and the VIN was obtained. A second officer was now on scene and assisting. A check of the VIN showed that the vehicle was stolen from Jersey City PD. The driver then fled on foot and was pursued by the second officer, and a check of the area, was unable to locate him. Contact with Jersey City PD related that the vehicle was stolen by a male named Anthony Giordano who stole it from one of his friends. Giordano's identity was confirmed through a photograph from a previous arrest.
Charges were filed and a bench warrant was issued for Anthony Giordano for failing to appear for court on 6/30/26. Giordano is known to frequent New York and Watchung, NJ. As previously mentioned, also uses the name Anthony Nash.
