On June 5, 2025, law enforcement officers with the New Britain Township Police Department, one of which is a member of the Bucks County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, served a search warrant at Afridi's residence and subsequently located Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his devices. This investigation stemmed from CyberTips from Yahoo, Snapchat, and Facebook. After Afridi was charged, he fled the United States to the United Arab Emirates. There is an active fugitive from justice arrest warrant for Afridi.
