National Weather Service Releases Preliminary Damage Survey Results

At 6:14 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2026, the WGAL News 8 Storm Team shared the results of a National Weather Service Preliminary Damage Survey for the large storm that greatly impacted Manheim Township on the evening of July 4th, 2026.  This survey confirmed that a downburst occurred that evening causing a damage patch 1.4 miles long and over 2.5 miles wide.

MTPD is grateful for all of the collaboration and teamwork everyone township-wide exuded during this harrowing event.  While certainly scary, we got through it together!
