On July 25th, 2024 NLCRPD got a knock on the door of their Warwick substation asking for help with a stray cat that keeps walking into an area business wanting to hang-out inside. NLCRPD officers put the woman requesting help in contact with Anita Barr an Elizabeth Township resident who works with Purr-fect Love TNR / Last Litter Rescue. Anita has a big heart and helps tons of area cats. In 2024 alone Anita has worked throughout Lancaster County and has been able to get over 200 cats spayed / neutered and has fostered countless cats and kittens getting them ready for adoption.
Anita was more than glad to help and once she got involved she found that the cats name is Tigger and that Tigger's family has been looking for him for 2 to 3 years. Over the last several years Tigger has bounced a long way from the 100-acre woods where his family calls Boyertown home and had at the time Tigger went missing. Boyertown is about 40 miles and an hour away from Lititz 's. On August 4th, 2024 Anita meet up with Tigger's family at the NLCRPD Warwick Sub-station and returned Tigger to his family.
A-lot of times stories do not have a happy ending but this one is purr-fect, and NLCRPD would like to thank Anita Barr for her hard work and dedication to help so many cats and other animals have better lives.
