Founded in 2009, CRIMEWATCH began as a printed magazine focused on crime awareness and law enforcement advocacy. As technology and public expectations evolved, so did CRIMEWATCH. We transformed into a cloud-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that operationalizes digital engagement for law enforcement, making it easier for departments to share critical public safety information through web portals, social media, and mobile apps.
Today, the CRIMEWATCH Network facilitates seamless information sharing among law enforcement agencies across the United States, enabling departments to release timely and accurate crime data, gather intelligence, and communicate directly with the public. Our platform is designed to increase transparency, build trust, and help officers solve crimes more efficiently.
With CRIMEWATCH, local police agencies can leverage a single entry system to publish news, arrests, warrants, and case information that reaches the public through multiple channels. In policing, these are turbulent times, and two important words have emerged for all in law enforcement to take notice of: transparency and engagement. Transparency is the first step to building trust with the public and CRIMEWATCH is an unlimited tool that gives me and my officers an effective and efficient way to engage with the community in an open and transparent manner. CRIMEWATCH helps my department quickly educate and inform the community on crimes and public safety issues. The CRIMEWATCH Tips function is a force multiplier allowing my officers and detectives to jump start their investigations due to the information they receive from our citizens. For those that say the public does not want to get involved or help the police anymore our history with CRIMEWATCH Tips tells a different story; a community that is actively engaged with helping their police department fight and solve crime. In 2019, my department received 304 CRIMEWATCH tips, an overwhelming number of them were actionable, which directly contributed to improving our clearance and arrest numbers.

The Manheim Township Police Department has been a client of CRIMEWATCH since January 2018. As the Public Information Officer for the department, I have found CRIMEWATCH to be a priceless information-gathering and investigative tool. The CRIMEWATCH platform quickly and easily integrates with outside social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter. This integration allows me to create one post that will automatically be uploaded to our webpage, Facebook page, and Twitter feed. The same goes in reverse – all posts can be removed at once, by removing them from CRIMEWATCH. This comes in especially handy with ARD completions and expungement orders.
CRIMEWATCH also allows its users to submit tips anonymously and properly links them to the corresponding post or warrant. During the 2 years and 5 months that Manheim Township has been with CRIMEWATCH, we have quickly become one of the top agencies in the CRIMEWATCH network of PA to have registered users, page views, Facebook and Twitter followers, and over 600 tips which have resulted in countless arrests and cases being cleared. Given the extremely low price for this service, the high volume of intelligence gleaned from it, and the outstanding customer service from all CRIMEWATCH staff members, to include free specialized and personalized additions to the service, makes this product a must for any law enforcement agency.

We went onboard with CRIMEWATCH in June of 2018 and were the first department in Northampton County. The project went smooth from the initial sales introduction through the implementation process and continues to this day to be a very cost effective tool for our department to push information out to our media stakeholders, residents and social media platforms from a central location. The anonymous tip submission page has been successful in solving crimes not only for our department but for posts that were made to assist our neighboring departments as well.
The CRIMEWATCH television set up in our Township Administration lobby has received nothing but positive comments from visitors.
