7/9/23 at 1:35PM, Officers were dispatched for a trespassing complaint in the 200 Block of W. South Street. (KS-23-006913). After speaking with the reporting party, they were advised this incident was a civil issue and not a criminal matter.
7/9/23 at 2:50PM, Officers were dispatched for someone locked inside a church in the 200 Block of Meredith Street. (KS-23-006914). Officers were able to make contact with a member of the clergy to have the doors unlocked.
7/10/23 at 3:10PM, Officers were dispatched for an abandoned vehicle at the dead end of Race Street. (KS-23-006959). Upon arrival, no registration was displayed on the vehicle and the inspection and emission stickers were expired. The vehicle was marked abandoned.
7/10/23 at 3:16AM, Officers were on patrol in a marked police vehicle in the area of Anson B. Nixon Park when they observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot. Due to the park being closed Officers conducted a stop on said vehicle. (KS-23-006933). One subject was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and the other was issued a Non-Traffic Citation for Underage Drinking.
7/11/23 at 8:32AM, Officers were dispatched to the 200 Block of S. Union Street in reference to an activated burglar alarm. (KS-23-006987). This was the second alarm this morning from the business. Contact was made with an employee who advised they set the alarm off when opening the business. All appeared okay.
7/11/23 at 4:04PM, Officers were dispatched for a phone assignment in reference to an individual calling a business multiple times and leaving voicemails in the 100 Block of W. Cedar Street. (KS-23-007012). Officers were advised none of the voicemail messages contained threatening comments.
7/12/23 Officers received a tip on Crimewatch regarding a vehicle who passed a cyclist in an unsafe manner and failed to make a completed stop of the stop sign in the area of E. South Street and S. Walnut Street. (KS-23-007044). A video was attached to the tip of the incident and the cyclist was able to identify the operator of the vehicle from his PennDOT Photo. One traffic citation was issued.
7/13/23 at 12:22AM, Officers were dispatched to the 300 Block of W. South Street in reference to the KAU field lights being left on and shining into a residence. (KS-23-007060). Officers were able to make contact with a staff member and have the lights turned off.
7/14/23 at 10:05AM, Officers were dispatched for a hit and run accident in a parking lot of a business in the 100 Block of Race Street. (KS-23-007113). Officers canvassed the area for cameras with negative results. Officers also spoke with two employees who stated neither one had witnessed the accident occur.
7/14/23 at 10:50PM, while conducting a patrol check of Kennett High School, Officers observed a vehicle occupied with one male and one female to be parked with its running lights on in the rear of the south parking lot. (KS-23-007134). Upon making contact, the two subjects advised Officers they were just listening to music and eating food. Officers did not observe any contraband or detect any deceptive indicators while speaking to the occupants.
7/14/23 at 2:28PM, Officers were dispatched for a parking complaint in the 300 Block of Harvey Circle. (KS-23-007126). Police observed the described vehicle, which was legally parked in the area, however, inspection and emissions stickers had expired. An abandoned vehicle sticker was placed on the vehicle.
7/15/23 at 12:45PM, Officers were dispatched for wires sparking against trees in the area of W. Sickle Street and N. Garfield Street. (KS-23-007150). The fire department arrived and contacted PECO to have them come check the poles and wires.
7/15/23 at 10:20PM, while monitoring traffic in the 800 Block of S. Union Street, Officers observed a vehicle with aftermarket window tint applied to the side windows, preventing view into the vehicle. (KS-23-007168). Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Officers detected the distinct odor of unburnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Two Non-Traffic Citations were issued for the subjects occupying the vehicle.
7/15/23 at 2:04PM, Officers were dispatched for a possible verbal domestic disturbance in the 100 Block of W. Cypress Street. (KS-23-007153). Upon making contact with the subjects involved, Officers were advised the disturbance was due to custody issues, but they did not have a custody agreement. The subjects were advised to get a custody agreement to prevent further issues. Officers checked on the sleeping child, all appeared okay.
7/15/23 at 8:17PM, Officers were dispatched to the 600 Block of W. Cypress Street for a subject drinking and driving. (KS-23-007164). Both Officers on duty were on W. Cypress Street conducting a traffic stop when receiving this call. No vehicle matching the description given was observed. Officers did patrol the surrounding area for said vehicle yielding negative results.
7/9/23 at 8:16PM, Officers were dispatched for a Reportable Accident on Walnut Street. (KS-23-006923).
7/10/23 at 10:31AM, Officers were dispatched for a Non-Reportable Accident on Terminal Way. (KS-23-006948).
7/10/23 at 12:33PM, Officers were dispatched for a Non-Reportable Accident at the intersection of Race Street and E. Cypress Street. (KS-23-006955).
7/10/23 at 5:11PM, Officers were dispatched for a Reportable Accident on S. Willow Street. (KS-23-006960).
7/14/23 at 10:18AM, Officers were dispatched for a Non-Reportable Accident on E. State Street. (KS-23-007113).
