On June 5^th, 2020 at approximately 11:37 PM hours York City Police Department responded to the 600 block of West Locust Street for a shooting. Officers discovered that one male victim, Eugene Robert Hampton who is 34 years of age and from York, PA had been driven to York Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. The victim was later released from York Hospital after treatment for his injuries.

York City Police Department began investigating and a search warrant was created for the victim’s vehicle. While the search warrant was conducted a large amount of marijuana was found. Through further investigation, officers discovered that the victim was in possession of a firearm during the incident. The victim was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Assault, Possession with the Intent to Deliver, Felons not to possess a firearm and firearms not to be carried without a license.

Eugene Robert Hampton was taken into custody on June 9^th, 2020 at approximately 1:45 PM hours by the York City Police Department and arraigned at Central Booking.
