LWTPD sets up Field Sobriety Course for Underage Drinking
On Sat. May 29, 2021 at 11am the Lower Windsor Township Police, PA Fish and Boat Commission and Hellam Township Police set up a Field Sobriety Course and demonstration area on Fishing Creek Rd. near Lock 2 water access area of Lake Clark. This detail was funded by the PA Liquor Control Board Underage Drinking and Dangerous Drinking Grant. Nine officers over the course of the day set up a field sobriety course and used alcohol simulation goggles to demonstrate the dangers of underage drinking and the effects of alcoholic beverages. Over the course of the day approximately 50 people made contact with the officers working the detail. Due to poor weather conditions these contacts were less then what we had anticipated. We look forward to doing similar details in the future to educate younger people about the effects of alcoholic beverages.
