On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at approximately 10:02 P.M., the Stroud Area Regional Police Department (SARPD) responded to the area of 630 Main Street, Stroudsburg Borough, for a reported physical altercation involving multiple individuals. Initial reports indicated that one of the individuals involved was armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers located Jonatan Regalado Gonzalez, a 40 year old male from East Stroudsburg, who had sustained multiple sharp-force injuries to his left arm/back and was bleeding heavily. Gonzalez was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Responding officers were provided descriptions of two males reportedly involved in the incident and observed leaving the area toward North 6th Street. Officers located two males matching those descriptions near Main and North 6th St. The males were identified as Brendan Wells, a 32 year old male from Tannersville and Christopher Cucinello, a 36 year old male from Tobyhanna. Both males were detained as the investigation continued.
Wells was found to be in possession of an orange spring-assisted knife and Officers also recovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from him.
Investigators subsequently obtained and reviewed surveillance video in the area. The video evidence showed Gonzalez and Cucinello engaged in a physical altercation on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Main St, during which punches were exchanged and outdoor chairs were thrown. During the altercation, a female attempted to intervene. Video footage showed Gonzalez striking the female in the face. Immediately thereafter, Wells approached Gonzalez, removed a knife from his pocket, and stabbed Gonzalez in the back.
Following the stabbing, the altercation continued and Cucinello and another unidentified white male wearing a black T-shirt, are observed engaging in a physical altercation with Gonzales, during which the males exchange punches and grapple with one another. The male in the black T-shirt has not been identified yet.

The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is seeking the public's assistance with identifying the suspect pictured in the all black t-shirt and dark pants. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to "Submit a tip". All tipsters can remain anonymous or leave contact information for the investigating officer.
