Burglary Series at Stroud Smoke Shop

The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries at the Stroud Smoke Shop 1115 N. 9th St in Stroud Twp. These burglaries occurred on August 14, 27, and 30, 2026.

August 14, 2026

On August 14, a sole suspect made forced entry through the rear door of the Stroud Smoke Shop, triggering the business alarm. The suspect stole a box of vapes valued at $150.00.  The suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended that evening.

August 27, 2026

Two suspects broke the front door glass and entered the Stroud Smoke Shop, removing vapes and vape batteries before fleeing. The stolen items were valued at approximately $800.00 and $250.00, respectively.

Attempted Burglary – August 30, 2026

5:07 am, three juveniles attempted to break the front glass door of the Stroud Smoke Shop by throwing rocks through the window, which set off the building security alarm. SARPD officers, already monitoring the area due to the previous burglaries, responded quickly and apprehended the juveniles approximately two blocks from the business.  A 15 y/o male, and two (2)- 17 y/o males were identified as the suspects in this burglary.

A search warrant executed at the juveniles' residence and led to the recovery of stolen merchandise from the two previous burglaries.  Charges are pending on the three (3) juveniles through the juvenile court system.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
