On January 15, 2026, the Dallas Township Police Department participated in the Hoagies for Heroes competition during the grand opening of Wawa in Dallas Township.

The event brought together the Township’s first responder agencies, including the Dallas Township Police Department, Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS, and Kunkle Fire Company, in a friendly competition as part of the celebration.

Congratulations to Kunkle Fire Company, which secured the trophy.

Despite cold temperatures, the grand opening was well attended and provided an opportunity for agencies to connect with the community. The Department thanks Wawa for the invitation to participate and for hosting a successful event.

In addition, Wawa made a donation to each participating organization. DTPD will place its portion of the donation into the Officers’ Benevolent Fund to support future community-focused projects and initiatives.

The Dallas Township Police Department would also like to officially welcome Wawa to the Township and thank them for their commitment to community involvement.
