Thursday March 20, 2025, at approximately 0048 hours, officers of the Upper Saucon Township Police Department were dispatched to the 4800 Block of West Hopewell Road for a 911 call reporting someone breaking into a home followed by gun shots.  Upon arrival, officers encountered a subject outside of a home armed with a firearm.  After negotiating with the subject for over 30 minutes the subject shot themself.  Medical aid was summoned, and the subject was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced deceased after arrival at the hospital. The investigation at this point indicates that there is no additional danger to the public as this appears to be an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when it becomes available.
