A West Lampeter Township man has plead guilty to possession of child pornography and related offenses regarding charges filed in 2018.
Jody Sambrick, 61, will serve 1 year less a day to 2 years less a day in prison plus 8 years probation upon his release.
Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn accepted the negotiated plea and ordered the sentence.
Police were alerted to the activity by a cyber tip received from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. A search warrant was obtained and was executed at a West Lampeter Township residence. The residence was owned by Sambrick and computers were seized. Interviews were conducted with the occupants of the residence, including Sambrick. The computers were examined by the Lancaster County Digital Forensic Unit. Numerous images and videos depicting child pornography were discovered during the exam. The results of the exam and the investigation led to felony charges being filed by Detective Steven Heinly against Sambrick.
Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart prosecuted the case.
