Subject: Serious Motor Vehicle Accident

On Sunday (10-13-2019) at 2:50am the West Lampeter Township Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in the area of Gypsy Hill Road at Morningside Drive. This accident was a one vehicle accident, which was occupied by one rider.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was traveling west on Morningside Drive, approaching Gypsy Hill Road. Prior to the stop sign at the intersection the motorcycle rider locked up his rear brake entering the intersection. The motorcycle entered the intersection and lost control which ejected the rider from the motorcycle.
The rider, who’s name is being withheld at this time is an 18 year old Lancaster County man who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The West Lampeter Township Police Department is asking anyone who may have information related to this accident to call at 717-464-2421.
The West Lampeter Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Lampeter Fire Company and the Willow Street Fire Company.
