DUI-22 May 2026 at 5:52PM - Matthew W. WEATHERELL M/55 of Lancaster, PA is accused of the above crimes. On or about the listed time and date West Lampeter Township Police were originally dispatched to a vehicle accident in the 100 Blk. Reese Ave. Lancaster, PA where a parked vehicle had been struck. The officers conducted an investigation on scene and discovered that a family member of WEATHERELL had struck a parked car in this block. WEATHERELL had then returned to the scene in a black Honda and spoke to the owners of the parked vehicle which had been struck. The owners of the parked vehicle reported that WEATHERELL appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when he arrived. He had left prior to police arrival. The investigation continued at the residence of WEATHERELL, in the 1600 Blk. Wiker Ave. Lancaster, PA. WEATHERELL showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Evidence was gathered showing that WEATHERELL had in fact been under the influence of alcohol when he drove the black Honda to the scene of the original accident. WEATHERELL was unable to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests to the appropriate standard and was placed under arrest. He consented to a chemical test of breath which showed that he had a BAC of .156%. WEATHERELL was booked at the West Lampeter Township Police Department and released. He is awaiting his preliminary hearing on these charges.
