Forgery/Access Device Fraud-3 June 2026 at 3:15PM - Jacob R. RANNELS M/24 of East Petersburg, PA is accused of the above offenses. On or about listed time and date West Lampeter Township police were dispatched to Citizens Bank Willow Street, PA for a fraud in progress. Upon arrival the suspect had fled the scene but not before bank employees had obtained a copy of his driver's license and the registration on the vehicle he was driving. The driver's license belonged to the accused, Jacob R. RANNELS and the vehicle observed was also registered to him. The investigation continued and it was discovered that RANNELS had forged a check for approximately $3,000 from victim who had not written a check to him. RANNELS then attempted to cash this check at the bank. At the conclusion of the investigation RANNELS was charged with the listed offenses and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On 10 June 2026 officers with the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department located RANNELS and took him into custody. He was arraigned on 11 June 2026, receiving a $5,000 unsecure bail. He is currently awaiting his preliminary hearing before MDJ Benner. 

 

The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
