Bradley J. Getz became Lancaster Township’s Chief of Police on July 15, 2024. Chief Getz started his career in law enforcement in1999, with the Pennsylvania State Police and served in numerous roles to include Troop Commander, Station Commander, Crime Section Commander, Patrol Section Commander, and Internal Affairs Division investigator. He worked in various stations located throughout Montgomery, Philadelphia, Delaware, Lehigh, Dauphin, and Lancaster Counties as he rose to the rank of Captain. Chief Getz retired from the PA State Police in March of 2024 after 25 years of service. Chief Getz brings a vast amount of experience to Lancaster Township and an expanded knowledge base of different roles within a police department.
Chief Getz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from Ursinus College where he played collegiate soccer and graduated in 1997. He also is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
