East Lampeter Township is partnering with PPL to provide an educational opportunity on electricity in our community presenting, PPL’s “Live Line Electrical Safety Exhibit”. The demonstration is scheduled for Tuesday October 19th at 6:30pm.
Although the primary audience is first responder agencies and public works employees, the demonstration should prove interesting and educational to the general public who is invited and encouraged to attend. It is FREE to attend and no reservations are required.
The exhibit features a 7,200-volt electrical grid with live wires, utility poles, and transformers. Trained PPL employees will recreate sparks, flames, smoke and crackling that occur when objects come into contact with live electrical lines including tree branches and even Mylar balloons.
