On Sunday January 29th the East Cocalico Township Police Department was notified by a member of the Harvest Fellowship Church, 34 W. Church Street in Stevens, for suspicious activity. Officers were shown footage of an unknown male who had entered the building earlier that morning around 8:40am. The male walked throughout the church and spoke with a member and asked some unusual questions.
Officers contacted other local churches and discovered the same male had entered several other churches in the Cocalico community asking for either directions or money. Although a crime was not committed, the male’s actions raised concerns prompting an investigation. Officers were able to identify this male subject and spoke with him advising him not to return to the church properties in the future. It has been determined that the subject is not perceived to be a threat to the community.
As always, please do not hesitate to report suspicious activity if something appears to be out of the ordinary, err on the side of caution and notify your local police department.
