THE GUN HAS BEEN LOCATED

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FIREARM

On Tuesday May 12 at 0003 hours, the East Cocalico Township Police Department was called to the area of Ream Road and Keith Court in East Cocalico Township.  An impaired male was taken into custody after firing several shots into the air.  There were no reported injuries.  It is believed that the male ran from the area of the initial reported shots fired, onto the property of the Reamstown Elementary School and into the area of the Reamstown Park.  The individual lost possession of the firearm in an unknown location.  Criminal charges have been filed and the male was transported to Lancaster County Prison to be arraigned.

An extensive search of the area, including the use of a Police K-9 unit, was unsuccessful in locating the firearm.  Any citizens who may be in the area of the Reamtown Park or the adjacent baseball fields, should keep in mind the potential that a firearm may be in the area.  If found do not touch the firearm and immediately call 911. 

Continued efforts to locate the firearm will take place.  The East Cocalico Township Police Department released this statement due to the potential danger to the public.  Again, if a firearm is found in a public place, DO NOT touch the firearm and call Police.
