Under Chief Camacho’s leadership, the Chambersburg Police Department has embraced the principles of 21^st Century Policing and strives to maintain fidelity to the six pillars; each pillar details critical components essential to the mission and goals that are reflective of departmental growth.  In line with Pillar 1: Building Trust and Legitimacy and Pillar 4: Community Policing and Crime Reduction, the Chambersburg Police Department has continued to partner with the community to build and grow relationships.

Community Policing statistics for 2022:

• The department participated in 57 events with 140 total officers/non-sworn staff/leadership in attendance.
• The department partner with organizations such as the Franklin County School Districts, First Start/Head Start, MILPA, the Downtown Business Council, the Chambers Foundation, Southcentral CIT, the Salvation Army, and the Chief’s Advisory Board.    
• Events ranged from Station Tours, K9 Demonstrations, and Educational Workshops to Motor Escorts, Philanthropic Events, and Safety and Security Checks.  
• The department also remains humbled by the continued support of our community.  Throughout the year, over 60 donations were made to the department for K9 support, meals and snacks for the officers, and departmental supplies.

In 2023 the department will take on our biggest event to date with National Night Out as the Housing Authority passes the reins, and we are excited to start the year off with the Hoops for Harmony Tournament at CASHS.
