The 2nd Annual Swatty Float is being held tomorrow starting at 10am at McNaughton Park, which is located behind the Swatara Township Authority building at 8675 Paxton Street Hummelstown, PA. Guests are encouraged to bring their own tubes, floatation devices and/or kayaks. We are asking that guests park at McNaughton Park and then unload their equipment in the parking lot. From McNaughton Park, we will be providing shuttle services up to Schiavoni Park where participants can easily enter the Swatara Creek. You may also park at Schiavoni Park and then take advantage of the shuttle services after you exit at McNaughton Park. The float from Schiavoni Park back down to McNaughton Park takes approximately 35 to 60 minutes depending on conditions. Once guests exit at McNaughton Park they can join our Director of Public Safety, Darrell Reider, for a FREE lunch starting at 11am and running until 12pm. The lunch includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks. Restrooms are available at both parks for your convenience. Several of our officers will be out on the creek during the event in tubes and Kayaks. Harrisburg River Rescue will also be on site to ensure a safe event. We will also have an officer assisting at the exit point to help participants out of the water.
Come out and join our officers for this summer finale event which is sure to be a lot of fun!
