On 04/01/2026 Harrisburg City Police were dispatched to 1721 N. 5th Street, Bethel AME Church, for the report of a burglary. Throughout the investigation, Church officials confirmed that between damages and stolen items the Church had sustained approximately $100,000.00 in losses.
Harrisburg Police Officers conducted an extensive and thorough investigation, utilizing a variety of investigative methods and surveillance tactics to identify and apprehend the two actors involved. These Harrisburg Police Officers canvassed the area for surveillance footage, conducted follow up investigations, spoke with residents and utilized local businesses to obtain critical information and evidence related to the incident.
Through persistent investigative efforts the officers successfully developed actionable leads that ultimately resulted in the identification and arrest of the individuals responsible for the Church burglary. The suspects were identified as Nathan Scott Johnson and Jeffrey Brian Youngblood. Both men were arrested for numerous felonies to include, Burglary, Institutional Vandalism Place of Worship, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Criminal Mischief and Theft of Secondary Metal.
