The City of Harrisburg Bureau of Police is proud to share its 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, a comprehensive outline of the Bureau's objectives over the next 5 years. 

This plan is the result of extensive research as well as collaboration with our community, law enforcement partners, and stakeholders, ensuring our strategies align with the on-going needs of Harrisburg City. The Strategic Plan is built around 3 core goals:

I. Protect the City of Harrisburg:  Our first goal is to ensure the safety and security of our community, focusing on proactive strategies to prevent crime, reduce violence, and increase solvability of violent crimes. 

II. Serve the City of Harrisburg: Our second goal is to provide exceptional service to the community by prioritizing responsiveness, transparency, and accountability. We will work to build strong relationships with our residents, businesses, and community organizations, ensuring that our policing practices are fair, equitable, and responsive to the needs of all. 

III. Maximize the Workforce Potential: Our third goal is to develop and support a highly skilled workforce to meet the complex demands of modern policing. We will invest in training, technology, and personnel development, ensuring that our Officers have the resources they need to succeed.
