Commonwealth v. Jason Donmoyer: December 8, 2014 - Jason Donmoyer pleaded guilty before Judge Hoover to Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint, Simple Assault and Harassment for an incident that occurred on December 4, 2013. Judge Hoover sentenced Donmoyer to 3 years to 6 years in state prison. The charges stemmed from an incident where the defendant choked and strangled the victim, his girlfriend at the time, multiple times while at their residence in the Elizabethville area. During their altercation, the victim had trouble breathing. While the victim was trying to break away from the defendant, he bit a large piece of her scalp (approximately 4 cm) off of the right side of her head. He then kept her in the home and would not allow her to leave until the next morning when she was able to escape with her daughter, who was present the entire time. She was able to make her way to the Pennsylvania State Police Lykens Barracks where she sought help. The injury to the victim’s head was so severe that she had to had a skin graft done by a plastic surgeon and will forever have a 4 cm wide scar. This case was prosecuted for the Commonwealth by Deputy District Attorney Kristyne Sharpe.
