This week, District Attorney Fran Chardo presented the following awards as part of Police Memorial Week.

• The 2019 Lieutenant Robert “Bo” McCallister Memorial Award for Outstanding Service as a Patrol Officer – Officer Daril Foose of the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.  The award recognized Officer Foose’s exemplary work in combating illegal gun possession in the City of Harrisburg that resulted in the seizure of 34 illegally possessed firearms in the past year making Dauphin County a safer place to live.
• The 2019 Detective Samuel Thomas Kohr Memorial Award for Outstanding Service as a Detective – Retired Detective Dennis Woodring of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, who previously retired as a Lieutenant from the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.  The award recognized Detective Woodring’s outstanding service in reconstructing shooting scenes and quickly determining what happened at crime scenes in the pursuit of justice during the last year.
• The 2019 LeRoy S. Zimmerman Award for Outstanding Service as a Prosecutor – Dauphin County Chief Deputy District Attorneys Seán M. McCormack and Jennifer W. Gettle.  The awards recognized Chief Deputy District Attorneys McCormack and Gettle for their leadership in the area of child abuse investigations and prosecutions.  These advocates for children are statewide leaders in the battle against those who abuse children.
• The 2019 District Attorney’s Award for Outstanding Service by a Citizen – Joseph Robinson, Jr. of Susquehanna Township.  The award recognized Mr. Robinson for his leadership in an innovative program designed to improve relationships between police and youth in Susquehanna Township that led to a reduction in minority youth arrests by half.  Mr. Robinson has served as a leader and role model in Susquehanna Township in particular and Dauphin County as a whole.
