Mail Theft/IdentityTheft Reports:

In the last two weeks, we have received five identity theft/credit card fraud cases and a theft of mail complaint.  Five residents reported learning that either unauthorized credit card accounts were recently opened using their personal information or existing accounts were accessed illegally.  Additionally, a Pipersville resident reported the theft of an envelope containing a check from her mailbox.  It is unknown if these cases are connected at this time but Tinicum residents with information on identity theft or mail theft can report it to the Tinicum Police Department at 610-294-9158.  Information from the Federal Trade Commission concerning identity theft can be found at https://www.identitytheft.gov/
