The carbon monoxide leak, which occurred on December 27, 2024, in the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road, tragically claimed the life of Dayle Haddon,76, of New York, NY.  The second victim, who is currently hospitalized in critical condition has been identified as Walter J. Blucas, 76, of Erie.PA. 

The investigation indicates a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system caused the carbon monoxide leak.  The officers and members of the Solebury Township Police Department wish to extend our sincere condolences to the Haddon and Blucas families.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of carbon monoxide safety precautions in our homes.

6900 Block of Phillips Mill Road

SOLEBURY, Pa -

On Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 6:31 a.m. Bucks County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications received a call from the resident that a man was lying down, passed out on the first floor of a detached office/in-law suite. New Hope Lambertville Rescue Squad was first to arrive on scene and immediately removed the male, 76, from the building, he was transported for treatment at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. A second, female victim, 76, was discovered deceased in a second-floor bedroom.

New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company was also on scene and detected a high level of carbon monoxide in the property. Two medics were transported to Doylestown Hospital for carbon monoxide exposure and one Solebury Township Police Officer was treated at the scene.
 

This tragedy is currently under investigation by the Solebury Township Police Department. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members.
