Residents living near Taylor Lane and Aquetong Road in Solebury Township reported a black bear sighting in their backyard this morning. The bear did not linger and continued on its way into an open field without incident.  We encourage residents to contact the Solebury Township Police Department (STPD) if they spot a bear in their area.

As a reminder, black bears are generally wary of humans and rarely attack. However, if you do encounter a bear, please remember these important safety tips:

• Never feed or approach bears
• Remain calm, make loud noises, and avoid eye contact
• Never run from a bear

By following these guidelines, we can peacefully coexist with our wildlife neighbors.
