This week the Perkasie Borough Police Department hosted our second annual Chief For A Day event with Guth Elementary School students! Throughout the month of February, students earned a chance to win by committing good deeds in the school, at home, or in the community. Six honorary chiefs, one from each grade, were chosen to represent their classmates and were sworn in by Perkasie Borough Mayor Jeff Hollenbach at a ceremony in borough hall. Students and family members were then treated to a police escort to school where their fellow students and teachers were ready and waiting with signs supporting their classmates and officers. In addition to the chiefs, honorary sergeants were chosen from each home room and got to participate in our pizza lunch where officers spent time getting to know our students and sharing a bite to eat. This event is something both officers and students have been looking forward to all year long and we look forward to doing it again next year! A big thank you to our incredible winners, students, staff, and Principal Smith for their continued support in making this event a joyous celebration for all!
