The Doylestown Township Police Department would like everyone to be aware of an email phishing scam circulating through the area. The email subject line will involve a known/ valid password belonging to the victim. The suspects' claim to have captured videos of the victim while searching the internet. The suspects' give their victims a deadline to purchase a certain dollar amount of Bitcoin and then deposit those funds into a Bitcoin address. If these tasks are not completed, they threaten to release videos of the victim to their social media contacts, friends, and family. Please do not respond to these emails or send any funds.
