On March 6th, 2024, Officers with the Dodge City Police Department, along with Cody Ceniceros’s family, met with the Ford County Coroner to discuss the findings in Cody’s final autopsy report completed by Forensic Medical. The Coroner explained that the final report showed Cody died from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol crash log indicated that Cody was not wearing a seat belt.

During this investigation, investigators spoke with a witness who claimed to have seen a single vehicle traveling east through the field Cody’s vehicle was found. The witness said they saw the vehicle on 11/24/2023 between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, the same night and time frame Cody was believed to be in the area.

Now, that the final autopsy report has been received, the Dodge City Police Department does not plan to share any further information about this case unless new information becomes available. This event has deeply impacted many within our community, and we extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those mourning during this difficult time. El 6 de marzo de 2024, oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Dodge City, junto con la familia de Cody Ceniceros, se reunieron con el Forense del Condado de Ford para discutir los hallazgos en el informe final de autopsia de Cody completado por Forensic Medical.
